Nicola Simbari (1927-2012) was an Italian painter who studied at the Accademia di Bella Arti in Rome. His father was an architect for the Vatican, and his work is renowned for its Mediterranean themes and exciting use of color. He is considered a semi-abstract painter. His work can be found in major private collections including the Exxon Corporation, Pepsico, Christian Dior and General Mills, as well as the Cincinnati Fine Arts Department. He is considered one of Italy’s most important artists of the past half-century.
