Description

This limited edition lithograph by Victor Vasarely features a boldly colored optical illusion image composed of squares that form several Rubik’s cube-like structures. This configuration of squares creates a trompe-l’oeil effect simulating movement.

Victor Vasarely (1906-1997) was born in Hungary and emigrated to France. He is widely considered the father of the Op Art movement, and his works are often concerned with the use of space and color to create 3D illusions. He was the recipient of the Guggenheim Prize and the French Chevalier de L’Ordre de la L??gion d’honneur, and a museum is dedicated to his work in Pecs, Hungary. His works are found in some of the world’s major museums.
